sensory analysis
  • Colour: medium-deep red exhibiting deep garnet hues and very bright vermilion glints.
  • Nose: before swirling, quite intense resinous, inky and liquorice aromas come to the fore brought by the wine’s ageing in oak. On swirling the glass for greater aeration of the wine, the natural character of the Tinta de Toro shows through in the form of ripe fruit, such as plums and wild blackberries.
  • Paladate: a soft sweet attack enhanced by the glycerine-rich nature of the wine. Nice harmony between the tannins (brought by the oak) and the varietal character (coming from the grapes) gives the wine good length of flavour.
